A couple of awards...

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to post a really long post with awards. Not really... I had not choice. :D
And now after this post I will have to create a page with all of my awards. Anyway... Lets get to it!

Thank you Ginny and June for nominating me for the spotlight award! It means so much to me. :D
You can go look at their blog here. So for this award I have to answer a few questions. So lets get to it!

My piano!
Sorry guys this was a really quick picture that I took. :D
I picked piano as my talent to show and tell about to you all.

Now to answer the questions.

1. When did you first begin your talent?
Well, I was around 8 years old when I started to play the piano.

2. Why do you love to do this? (your talent)
I get to share my talents with others around me. Music can be really motivating and moving in peoples lives at times. Along with any musical instrument. Plus I love practicing. :D

3. Who or what inspired you to begin your talent?
My Mom put me in piano with a few of my other siblings. I didn't really choose to start piano but I am glad to my Mom for what she did. Since then I have loved playing!

4. Is your talent a performing art, a visual art, or something else?
My talent as playing the piano, is a performing art I would say.

5. Do you have to practice your talent to improve?
A definite yes! I would be no where in piano if I didn't practice.

Just a fun fact about me is that I know how to play Fur Elise by Beethoven. If you would like to hear what it sounds like you can visit YouTube and type in the search box Fur Elise by Beethoven. It is really a beautiful piece.

Also if you have any questions about piano just comment down below! I would be more than happy to answer your questions.

That is all of the questions for this award and now for who I am going to nominate!

I nominate:

Katrina and Haylie (Crafty Einsteins),
Inner Star Studios,
Aliah (Cranberries and crescents).

Here are the rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you!
  • Take a picture representing one of your talents. It could include a picture of a doll(s), or something that represents your talent you chose.
  • Answer the 5 questions below:
  • Nominate at least three people that you have NEVER nominated for an award before. No tag backs!!
  • Ask them the same five questions I ask you.
  • Comment on their blog letting them know that you nominated them.
  • Add the pic above on your sidebar or award page thanking the person (or people) who nominated you.

Here are the questions!
1. When did you first begin your talent?
2. Why do you love to do this? (your talent)
3. Who or what inspired you to begin your talent?
4. Is your talent a performing art, a visual art, or something else?
5. Do you have to practice your talent to improve?

Have fun!

Now to another award!

Hey everybody! I was nominated by Adaline from AG shire for the Blogger recognition award! Thank you so much Adaline! It means a lot to me. :D You can go to Adalines blog here. So for this award I have to answer a few questions. So lets get started!

Here it is! :D

The guidelines for the post of the award are as follows.

  • Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog. List who you've nominated in the post.
  • Make sure to also attach the award itself! (You can do this by right-clicking, saving, and uploading the image).
  • Comment on each blog and let them know you've nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
  • Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing! (It happens LOL).

  • Note: You can decline the award if you don't feel up to doing the above, but remember—you have to earn it by doing the work! :)

Here is the original post for these guidelines.

First I'll tell you my blogging story.

I have always known that there were American Girl dolls out there but never had one, nor really wanted one. Or so I thought. Until one of my friends introduced me to Saige, GOTY 2013. I remember looking at her in the most recent catalog of that time, and thinking of how pretty she was, and how cool it would be to have her.
At first I wasn't sure If I should get Saige, and why I would want her. Because I was afraid that when I would buy her, that she would just sit in the closet, and never be played with. I also thought that I was already to old for dolls. None of my friends had dolls other than one.  (Who didn't really play with hers very much) I thought that dolls were for little kids. I wasn't sure what my friends would say.
That very day I decided that I would start saving up for her. If I wanted Saige that would mean that I would have to save up all the money myself. Which would mean lots of hard work. I wanted Saige so bad that I gathered all of the money for her within the next month! I remember clicking the order button online, and tracking my package on FedEx.com through the week. I was waiting for my package to arrive on Saturday sometime in May (I can't remember ;) ) at 5:00 (approximately) But I had to go to my Grandma's house. Great. Now I had to wait even more! All day I was wishing I was there to see Saige arrive. But When my Dad came to pick me up later that night, he had a surprise for me. It was Saige! She was in the car still packaged up and waiting to be opened.
While we were driving home I couldn't wait any longer. I opened her partially just to see her beautiful face. When we got home it was already 12:00 pm. I didn't care! I opened her half asleep just to take her hairnet off, and look at her. Just before I crashed on my bed. I couldn't wait to show her to everyone. Those following weeks I took great care of Saige. (I think I was a little over protective of her) She was special to me. I had payed for her with my own money which made all the difference on how I treated her. She was also my first doll, and she was mine.
I always kept her in the box when I wasn't playing with her, and brushed her hair all the time. Time passed and I started to really like American Girl dolls. So I decided to purchase Claire MAG #23 on Ebay. A little while later I got Mae, MAG #37 at the Dallas TX American Girl Place.
I had gotten a Pinterest account a few months earlier and was starting to see all of these wonderful and interesting doll blogs. Doll Diaries, and Fun with AG fan especially. I then started thinking that maybe it would work out for me to have one too. I then asked my Mom if I could get one. She said "Maybe". That was around Thanksgiving 2013.
I started to think of different names for my blog. I wanted something special and unique.

A few months later I asked my Mom again. Showing her that I might just be able to do this. She said yes! I still wasn't sure how I would run my little blog, but I started to get the hang of it. At first it was hard for me to see that I had no page views or any followers. But I still posted every month or so. Still hoping for somebody to stumble across my blog. Every now and then I would get 1 or 2 page views from Ukraine or France, but not even sure why and how they even glanced at my blog. (LoL)
I started to notice that you can't just make a blog and everyone will see it. You have to put your name out there. After a while I forgot about my blog. Every once in a while I would quickly get on just to check up on it but it was still slow going. Then one day I got on just because I remembered, and I saw that someone left a comment on my blog! Guess who? American Girl Place. She really made my day. Thank you so much. :D
Next was Amaya from American Girl Crafts And Fun. She started to follow me which really made my day too, and so on. At this moment I have 16 followers. I love all you people!
And that is how I started my blog.

Now for some of my advice to you. I am not a very experienced blogger so bear with me. ;D

First off I want to say that blogging isn't always easy. There will be times when you will run out of material to use. Sometimes you will need to make posts up on the top of your head. But there are also amazing posts that you love and are proud of. I take photos of my dolls and sometimes there are good shoots and sometimes there are not so good. But really no matter what, your followers will support you. Mine are really good with that. ;)
Next piece of advice is be yourself! I noticed that I would sound like a robot on certain posts when it wasn't necessary. That is why I am really drawn to Adaline's blog as well as American Girl Place's. They are themselves while making their posts! Which makes all the difference. That is something I have to work on a bit.
So that was my advice to you all.

    I nominate:

Amaya (American Girl Crafts and Fun),
    Christian Homeschooler,
    Kelsey (Empty Boxes),
    Inner Star Studios,
    Maddie,
    Shelby-Grace (Oh my dollies),
    Meghan (Girl doll type),
    Hunter (Kitties holding dolls),
    American Girl Place,
    Aliah (Cranberries & crescents),
    Mint4AGdolls,
    Leah (ToDOLLYawesome),
    Polka dot bee,
    Katrina Haylie (Crafty Einsteins),
    Ginny and June.

Whew. OK. There you are! Remember that you don't have to except the award if you don't have time. But it would be nice if you would... :D

Thanks for reading and have fun!

    3. Thank you so much for nominating us! You are so sweet! Don't worry, I really like that picture of your keyboard; it's gorgeous! I LOVE Fur Elise :) I can kind of play it on my violin, but there are a lot of accidentals AND a lot of shifting so I try not to make my family gouge their eyes out by playing it :) I used to be worried about what other people thought when they came to our house and saw all of the dolls, but now I guess I don't worry as much :) Sorry, I'm a little frazzled from writing a rather rigorous essay :) I can't seem to think straight xD
