Cute spring hairstyle

Hello everyone! Today I am going to show you how to do a really cute spring hairstyle for your American Girl doll.
P.s. This hairstyle is intended for longer haired dolls.

You are going to need: An AG brush, Spray bottle (Only filled with water), one plastic hair tie, and of course your doll. :)

First, start by brushing and lightly misting her hair with water only. (It makes the hair easier to work with) Then, section off a part of her hair by her face that is about this wide.

Now, section off three parts of that strand of hair and start braiding all the way down the strand. Make sure you braid tightly! Then wrap it around her head. This is usually the point were you would tie the braid off, but not yet! That's the next step. :)

Tie it off with the plastic hair tie with the strand that is nearest to her face so it ties the braid back and makes a Y shape.
It should look something like this. I know, I know, it doesn't look very completed right now, but it will in the next step! :)

Now, all you need to do is add a bow or a flower clip to finish it off. It makes for a super cute style!

And there you have it! It's a great hairstyle for spring. I don't know what to call it but you can decide. Comment down below for ideas for the name of this hairstyle. Be creative and make your own crafts,  and hairstyles. If you do, E-mail me a picture of it at americangchick@gmail.com

The Bitty project

The girl I babysit brought over her bigger Sister's really old and "Well loved" dirty Bitty baby doll and asked me to clean her up for her. So I took photos along the way to show you all how the results turned out. She is the dirtiest AG doll have ever worked with. But, I was able to clean her up! I was using the baking soda with warm water and a wash cloth to clean her up and it works really well. Go to the American Girl website for Videos on how to clean and care for your doll.

Here's some pictures.

These are pics of her head, legs, and arms when she was presented to Me.

As I started barely rubbing her skin, there was right away a HUGE difference.
Dirty                               Cleaner
Before      and       After

Her face is now super clean after cleaning it. But I still want to work on her so she can be as clean as she can be, so I'm going to try different another way that might help even more. Like an magic eraser. (I'll probably do another post about cleaning dolls with an magic eraser.) Hopefully.

All pretty again! It feels a lot better when owning and holding a clean doll.

She was a great patient for my to work on. I am hoping to see her again so I can clean her up a little more. She looks almost new accept for her painted hair that is scratching off and her colored torso. I asked the girl I babysit if She could bring over her own Bitty baby the next time she came over so I could clean her up too. Iv'e seen her own Bitty before and know that she needs cleaning.

Want to learn how to clean your own doll? Read below on how I cleaned this doll up.

How to clean your doll

You will need: Two small bowls, a spoon, baking soda, warm water, and wash cloth.

First, fill one small bowl with warm water, then, one with a tiny bit of baking soda, pour some of the warm water into the one with the baking soda, then stir with spoon until paste is the consistency of tooth paste. Damp wash cloth, and dip it into the mixture and gently rub on stain and dirty skin of doll. repeat if needed.

Fun finds

Hey everyone! I have another fantastic post that I look forward to showing you!

So, I went to my Aunts bridal show and it was themed the "80's" and on all the tables there were some really cute mini games such as: Mini Rubik's cubs, and mini connect 4 games in various colors that I could play with Me my Sis's, and I found out that they are the perfect size for my AG dolls! Now I'am not sure where she got them and I wish I did... :)

But they are really cute, and now My dolls have these really cute games to play together!

I guess what i am trying to say is, keep you eyes peeled for things that would be the perfect size for your American Girl doll!
You might want to look at a dollar store and find cheap items. Be creative! (Example) My Mom came home with these little containers that looked like laundry baskets perfect for dolls and they were! So think BIG and creative!

First we have the mini connect 4 game for dolls! It was a mini version for people, and now it's actual size for my 18" dolls.
It looks like Saige and Mae are having fun playing connect 4! :)

Super cute right? Keep in mind that if you find something for your AG doll that has small piece's such as the connect 4 game for the checkers, to KEEP OUT OF REACH OF LITTLE CHILDREN! I want you to be safe. Lot's of small things can look just like candy like these checkers for the connect 4 game.

A closer look at the connect 4 game. The other colors of the board that i have is" Blue, and orange.

So now we are on to the mini Rubik's cubes! I am so excited that i can show you this! They are the PERFECT size for my dolls. They can actually twist, and they really look like the real thing! Maybe except for the colors... The colors are more of a pastel's.

Well, that's it! Hope you enjoyed! And keep a look out for cute items for your AG doll!

Happy finding!
