The pleated skirt

So, I've decided that I'm now going to be doing reviews on these Pixie Faire patterns that I get.
I'll sew them and tell you all what I think about them! Sound like a good idea? I'm really excited to sew a lot more things now! :) I never thought that I would be into sewing this much!
I don't know what to call my series yet. If you have any ideas comment them down below! I'll basically take anything at this point. I haven't thought of any name.
Anyway, this past week I sewed the pleated skirt!

Adorable right? I think it is so cute. ^_^
It's intermediate level which means it is for those who have sewn but have had at least a bit of experience. Not like the beginner patterns. This was actually easier then I thought it would be!
It was really easy to understand the instructions. Once it was all done, I came out with a beautiful skirt for my dolls! I actually had trouble at first with the pleats. I folded the pleats too close to each other so it limited the size of the skirt. I just made it so the pleats weren't as squished together and it came out perfectly fine. ^_^ It took me two tries to get it perfect.

This is definitely one of my favorite pieces that I have sewn so far!

I love the design. ^_^
I'm planning on sewing a white one, a black one, and a khaki material one soon.
I would say that this took me about an hour and a half to sew. But since I have already sewed one, the second, third, etc ones will come out a lot faster.
These are absolutely adorable! If you think you can do this pattern I say go for it! If you mess up it's OK. Just come back to this pattern after you've practice sewing a little more. Really, if I can do it, then you can definitely do it!
Good luck!
Have fun sewing!

P.s. If you have any questions about this pattern comment them down below!
Also, this pattern sells for $3.99 on Pixiefaire.com. Go check it out!
Also, if you want me to do step by step guides on these reviews please let me know! I don't mind doing them at all!

  1. That skirt is adorable! I really love the fabric you used! I almost got that pattern, but I didn't like the pictures on Pixiefaire. Now I'm reconsidering, though!

  2. The skirt turned out amazing! I think it would look really cute as a tennis outfit :) I think reviews on pixie faire patterns is a great idea, I can't wait to see what else you review! I am so glad I am not alone with the pleat thing, it takes me a few tries too. :)
