Fourth of July garland ~ A DIY

Hello everyone! Today I have a craft tutorial you!

Today I will be showing you how to make decor garland for your dolls!

You can make this in fourth of July colors, or with scrapbook paper that have patterns, or anything you want! But today I'm going to be making it for my dolls photo booth in celebration for this holiday.

 Here are the things you will need:

• Yarn or some type of string
• Some type of paper
• Scissors
• A ruler (Not shown)
• A pencil

 Step 1.

Draw a triangle with a pencil and use a ruler or something straight to make sure you make it even

 and straight.

And make sure that you have your doll there next to you when tracing because you don't want the garland to turn out under-scaled or over-scaled. Just a tip.

(Please don't mind my "Smokey bear" ruler, TBH I don't even know where it came from. xD )

 Step 2.

Next, cut out your triangle and trace more. I cute out 10 triangles of each color.

So that would equal to 20 triangles

 Step 3.

Line up your triangles and make sure that they are spaced how you would want them as the finished product. Then, measure out your string to fit that. Make sure that there is at least 3 inches excess so when you go to hang it up you won't be right on a triangle. I made mine have 5 inches excess BTW.

(This step is optional) 

If you are making two garland strings make sure to make a second string the same size. Other wise it will be a little difficult to make the other string the same size as this one. If that makes any sense...

 Step 4.

Draw where you want your holes to go, I drew just two circles near the edge of the triangle. And make sure that they aren't too close otherwise when punched the holes your triangle may tear. 

 Step 5.

Punch your holes on your triangles! This will take a little time.

And you can do this two ways. You can use a mini single hole puncher, or be lazy like me and use a sharpened pencil. xD 

Also, if you decide to use a sharpened pencil DON'T STAB YOUR SELF. IT REALLY HURTS.

Yeah... I learned that the hard way. xD

 Step 5.

String your triangles on to your string!

This took me forever I tell you... Ugh. It's so tedious. But it's worth it! ^_^

Repeat, and now you are done!

See how easy that was?

I made two but you can always alternate the colors for a cool pattern.

Thanks for reading! I was actually inspired to make this because for a youth activity that my church had we needed decor for our photo booth type thing and I ended up making one super last minuet! GO PROCRASTINATOR ME.

2015 AG summer release ~ My thoughts

Hello everyone! 

So American Girl recently came out with their summer outfits and accessories and today I will be reacting to most of the new items!

Enjoy!

 Okay, so to start off here are the double braided headbands.

I personally like the single braided headbands better than these. Although I saw that there is a problem that is always going to be there and can't really be fixed about these hair accessories. The hair comes out.

One of my friends has one of these (But one of the single braid ones) and the hair strands started to come out and make wonky loops. And one of these for $20, is not worth it to me.

 Next up is the new school desk.

It's so cute! I love everything. This retails for $58. The only thing that I see that is wrong with it by just looking at it, is that the chair is attached to the actual desk. That takes away a lot of play value.

 The school lunch set. This is just absolutely adorable! A great thing about this set is that the food items can come out of the tray! They aren't stuck to it. American Girl is known for their food items that stick to the plate. I'm really happy about this set! And this retails for $28.

 This is the science fair set. And this retails for $32. WAY overpriced let me tell you. 

And I personally think that it wasn't necessary at all. It is very cute, but it being $32 and only comes with what, 3 pieces? I won't even be considering adding this to my collection.

 Next up is the sport storage bench.

Very cute, but unnecessary in my opinion. This would be great though for those who are really into sports. This retails for $48. Ouch!

 I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN.

Let's just leave it at "Why does this even exist." 

I do like the concept, but it just seems so wrong.

 This outfit is called the Recess ready outfit. this is super cute! I wouldn't want it because I like having my dolls in more "sophisticated" clothes so they look like they are 14/15 instead of 10 but this is a super cute outfit. This outfit costs $30.

 I was so happy when I saw this outfit! American Girl is known for their bright pink girly colors so when I saw this I was so happy! Not that I hate pink, but American Girl tends to go a little overboard with it... xD But this is so accurate! Girls actually wear this kind of uniform. And this costs $34.

I absolutely LOVE how simple and cute this outfit is! The sweater looks very "older" looking. I love the boots as well! And this is $30.

Okay, this is the new Halloween outfit and all I can say is WHY. WHY AMERICAN GIRL.

Why is this even here. I would NEVER put my dolls in anything like this...

I'm really excited to see how this does on the market... 

Also the sheer sleeves don't seem like they would stay on for long. It looks like it could tear very easily. I can't stand this.

This is actually one of my favorite items from this release! It's super cute and I hope to add it to my dolls wardrobe! My only set back is that it's $10. If it were $8, that would be better but oh whale.

SO CUTE. If I were to get a pet I would definitely be getting her! And I think that she would be either Saige's or Amelia's dog. And it retails for $28. 

 So I'm limiting how many outfits I am getting from Grace's collection and the moment I saw the leaked picture of this gorgeous outfit I knew I had to have it! I really hope that I can get it before Grace retires! But at the moment I'm saving up to get the actual doll and not the accessories.

And this retails for $30.

And you can buy these accessories for Grace's new outfit for $28. I love the little red shawl!

It's super cute. But I wish it would come with the actual outfit set. Then It would be more worth the $30.

Possible GOTY 2016

So we possibly found the new GOTY for next year!

Ahh! She's so cute! The outfit that she has on is possibly her meet outfit. And don't mind that she's on a Kit stand. It looks like she has medium skin, possibly green eyes, and brown hair. I may be really wrong though... xD And her name is supposed to be Gabriela. I love her little shoes. ^_^ I'll update this post if I find more information.

The Sleepover (Part 1) ~ A photo story

I hope you all enjoy this! I haven't done a photo story in a long time!

I am just so lazy... xD

And by the way, this photo story is in the perspective of Amelia. ^_^

It was a great sunny afternoon when Saige announced her surprise to us girls.

 "Hey girls." Saige exclaimed. "I have a surprise for you all!" The other girls immediately started guessing what the surprise was. 

Mae: "Are we getting a new puppy?"

Claire: "Are we getting a new sister?"

Mae: "A new sister already?"

Saige: "No. None of those."

Both of them: "Aw..."

Saige finally told them: "We are having a sleep over with Sarah and Delilah tonight!"

Mae: (Gasp) "REALLY? We are going to have SO much fun! EEH!

Claire: "Sounds super fun! But not as fun as getting a new sister..." 

I had just realized that I was just standing there and hadn't said anything yet and that the girls were looking at me.

Saige: "Amelia, you haven't said anything. You okay?"

"Er, uh, yeah! I'm totally fine, I just don't really know who those people are..."

Claire: "Don't worry about a thing! Delilah and Sarah are super nice. You'll have a great time."

They then all smiled at me.

I felt a little bit better.

Since guests were coming we had to straighten up the apartment.

I really wish that Saige had told us about them coming over a day before so we wouldn't have to be in such a rush.

It's a good thing that the apartment isn't super big because otherwise we would be in big trouble.

Living with 3 other girls in the house is not the ideal setting for a tidy house.

Saige started directing us to do things.

"Claire, you take care of pepper."

Claire: "On it!" She then started coaxing him towards a place that wasn't being cleaned. "Here Pepper, come here boy."

Saige: "Mae, you start making the beds and cleaning up around there."
Mae: "Okay!"

Everyone started working.

There surprisingly wasn't that much to clean up at all. 

Amelia: "What do you want me to do Saige?"

Saige : "Um... Oh! Yeah, you can go get extra bedding for the sleep over. We're gonna need it."

Amelia: "Okay!"

I was just glad to get up and finally do something.

Mae: "I'm done making the beds!"

Saige: "Looks great Mae!"

Claire then exclaimed: "Pepper is now tamed!"

Saige looked relieved: "Thank you tons Claire!"

Just then the doorbell rang. 

Mae then volunteered to go retrieve the guests.

She soon came back with two girls.

One of them was supposed to be Sarah, and the other Delilah though I wasn't sure who was which.

Claire: "Hey guys! Nice to see you. How have you guys been? Yeah? Well...

They continued talking like they had been friends for ever. Which I didn't doubt.

Pepper then started jumping on Sarah.

"Aww cutie! You are so cute, yes you are! Ain't that right Pepper?"

Pepper wagged his tail and let out a delightful "Ruff!"

Saige then walked into the room.

Sarah: "Hey Saige! Long time no see huh?"

Saige: "Yeah, no kidding!"

Sarah: "So what's new?"

Saige: "A lot of things..."

Started talking as always.

I walked into the room with the sheets that Saige had asked me to get. 

Sarah then interrupted their conversation.

Sarah: "And who is this?"

Claire: "That's Amelia, the newest addition to the family!"

Amelia: "Hi! Yeah, I'm the newest addition."

I had no idea of who these people were but

reluctantly the first girl introduced herself.

"Hi! I'm Sarah in case you were wondering."

Delilah: "And I am Delilah!"

Amelia: "Well it's great to meet you both! I can't wait to have tons of fun!"
